• Correct ergonomic sitting

An upright sitting position is necessary for configuring your swivel chair correctly. Sit as far back as possible so that your back is supported by the backrest.

Configuring the height of the seat depends on whether you work at a height-adjustable desk or not.

    Here are some rough guidelines:

    • Adjust the armrests so that your arms lie in a relaxed position, and make sure not to raise your shoulders. You will then find the appropriate desk height.
    • Make sure to keep the angle between your upper and lower legs at more than 90°.

ERGO TOP® INVOLVES THE CONCEPT OF ACTIVE SITTING

"ERGO TOP® technology provides the LÖFFLER swivel chair with its 360° adjustable seat – in addition to more passive supporting synchro mechanisms – an active upright seating position. The sideways movements of the seat also encourage tilting of the pelvis – just like training for neuromuscular stabilisation mechanisms of the spine.

This active dynamic sitting trains the back muscles. The invertebral discs are provided with nutrients and poor posture is prevented. Please note that for this reason, you may experience some cramping.

The development of ERGO TOP® is carried out in close collaboration with the Chairperson for Ergonomics at Munich Technical University and was first used in the mobile seating collection, ERGO & Friends.

This was followed by the integration of the ERGO TOP® technology into all swivel chairs, which today is the main application for ERGO TOP®.

The IGR, Interessengemeinschaft der Rückenschullehrer/innen e. V. , fully recommends swivel chairs with ERGO TOP® technology.

With ERGO TOP®, the LÖFFLER swivel chairs fulfill the known requirements of traditional ergonomics as required by DIN EN 1335 1-3 for swivel chairs and the "Ergonomie geprüft" approval mark from TÜV Rheinland."

How to correctly adjust the height of your seat

In order to adjust the height of your seat, the lever on the rotary handle on the right-hand side underneath the seat should be pulled upwards. You can then adjust the seat to the desired height by adding or removing pressure on the seat. When you find your desired height, you can then release the handle.

    How to correctly adjust backrest

The height of the backrest can be set in seven different positions. Release pressure on the backrest and use both hands to gradually push it up. Once you have reached the highest position, the backrest will automatically go back to the lowest position.

The protrusion of the backrest should sit somewhere between the first to fifth lumbar vertebrae (approximately just above waist height).

How to correctly adjust backrest pressure

"Backrest pressure can be adjusted using the rotary handle on the right-hand side underneath the seat. You can increase the backrest pressure by turning the handle forward. You can decrease the backrest pressure by turning the handle backwards.

For correct dynamic seating, the restoring force of the synchro mechanism should be set adjusted to body weight. The synchronous motion sequence of the chair with sitting postures that changes regularly is only really used if the restoring force is individually adapted, i.e. the motion sequence is possible without much effort and the backrest provides sufficient support to avoid falling backwards."

How to correctly adjust the backrest locking mechanism

"You can tilt the backrest between 80° and 125° and fix it in five different positions within this range. Increase or decrease pressure on the backrest until you find your desired position.

This can be fixed by holding the position of the backrest and turning the rotary handle on the left-hand side under the seat one position backwards. In order to release the fixed position, you just need to move the rotary handle back to the starting position (one turn forward). You can then put pressure on the backrest by leaning on it. The locking mechanism will release itself with an audible click."
